Woman Of The Year

Since 1981, the NAWBO Baltimore Regional Chapter has honored women and corporations for their dedication to business growth, employee development, owner and personal accomplishments, community involvement and advocacy for women in business.

Past Awards Included:

Business Woman of the Year: will be selected based on their dedication to business growth, employee development, owner and personal accomplishments, community involvement and advocacy for women in business. Nominees must own at least a 50% share of her business and have been in business at least 5 years and have made significant accomplishments in each of the areas outlined in the application. (candidates are nominated or self-nominated)

Corporate Partner of the Year Award: An organization whose vision provides opportunities for women; demonstrates a willingness to devote time, energy and financial resources to programs benefiting women and women in business. (candidates are nominated) Mentor: understands the value and responsibility of helping others achieve success. Invests the time and energy in encouraging, advising, and giving others a helping hand up. (candidates are nominated)

Rising Star: recognizes emerging entrepreneurial women business owners who have been in business less than two (2) years. Although “new,” the business is already demonstrating strong growth and is expected to sustain long term success through sound business practices and a commitment to excellence in all endeavors. (candidates are nominated or self-nominated)

Unsung Hero: Candidate is critical to the growth and health of the organization, but may not always be visible. This person helps others move up, supports and empowers them, leading from the middle; a stabilizer and can lead through rough spots; gives back, works behind the scenes and doesn’t look for credit. People look to this person for guidance and are comfortable approaching her. No organization can survive without the Unsung Heroes. (candidates are nominated)

Trailblazer: recognizes women business owners for their trailblazing spirit, demonstrated by the companies’ business performance, innovation, growth and personal service to the community. (candidates are nominated or self-nominated)
